How is car mode different from cycling mode?
Unlike cycling mode, where you need to independently set the approximate maximum speed of your vehicle, in the car mode you do not need to do this. When driving an electric car, the sound of the engine is turned on only at low speeds: up to 19 miles per hour and up to 19 kilometers per hour, depending on the speed unit you set in preferences. We set different values between mph and km/h in connection with the difference between the US and European standards for sounding electric cars.
Why I need to set the estimated maximum speed of my vehicle in cycling mode?
For more truthful modulation of sound presets, Mothorn needs to understand the maximum capabilities of your vehicle. Otherwise, the sound of Mothorn will not create the correct sound perception of the change in speed in real time.
Can the sound suddenly turn off if the GPS disappears?
No.
Can I use Mothorn as a regular speedometer?
Yes, you can. Just mute sound in the preferences and enable the option "Always on screen".
I can not find application preferences. Where is it?
Below, under the main sound modules. Just swipe up.
Do you collecting and processing any personal data? Such as a location of users using GPS, or a user's voice audio fingerprints using microphone?
No, we don't. We have no servers for such processing and we do not plan to start them. Mothorn uses GPS just for correct operation of the speed tracking, and uses microphone just for sound operation of Voicehorn. We respect the rules of the GDPR, but we don't even need to comply with it, because we are not going to force users to register with Mothorn using email, Facebook accounts, etc. We use only the simplest logs to study and improve the performance of the mobile application.
